The paintings of
Bart Domburg feature images of specific places with their own
historical, religious or personal significance. It is not possible to
observe them as if they were simply landscapes or views. Looking at
them, we have the clear sensation that something has happened, at a
certain time, and that we are not simply observing a place, but what
has happened precisely in that place.
